There’s a new number 1 team in the High School Football America Tennessee Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
Oakland moved up one spot to the top position after winning 34-14 against Independence last Friday. This week, the Patriots, who are also ranked as the 31st team in our national rankings, will play against No. 34 Center Grove (Indiana) in a matchup of defending three-time 6A state champions.
Oakland has a very small lead over No. 2 Lipscomb Academy, which was originally ranked as the top team in our statewide rankings that we make using our special computer program.
Lipscomb Academy dropped a position after losing 35-10 to strong team IMG Academy. The Mustangs went down from being ranked 23rd to 33rd in our national rankings. This week, Lipscomb will play against defending Alabama 6A champion Saraland, who’s ranked 83rd in the 300.
Christ Presbyterian Academy (CPA) moved up three spots to No. 7 this week after barely beating No. 8 Brentwood Academy 17-16. CPA was losing 16-3 at halftime.
This week, CPA will play against a new Top 10 team, Pearl-Cohn, who made it into the state rankings at No. 10 after the Firebirds won 21-14 against preseason No. 7 Montgomery Bell Academy.
Just like Oakland, No. 3 McCallie will have a tough game against a team from another state. The Blue Toronado will have a game at home against Georgia’s Woodward Academy, which is ranked No. 273 in the whole country. McCallie is ranked 56th in the 300 national rankings.
