It didn’t take much time for changes to happen within the High School Football America Utah Top 10 high school football rankings, which are influenced by NFL Play Football.
Lone Peak achieved an impressive 27-7 victory against the previously ranked No. 2 team, Bingham, leading the Knights to move up from No. 5 to No. 3 in the initial in-season statewide ranking. Bingham, as a result, dropped to No. 6 this week.
On the upcoming Friday, Lone Peak is scheduled to compete against No. 7 team Timpview. Timpview had a loss against reigning 6A champion Skyridge with a score of 26-14. Consequently, the Falcons improved by one position to secure No. 2. Meanwhile, Timpview went down one position to No. 7.
At the top spot, Corner Canyon, the highest-ranked team, secured a comfortable 55-7 win during the opening night against Granger. These Chargers, who held the 74th position in our preseason national rankings, are set to face Nevada’s strong team Bishop Gorman. The Gaels have earned the No. 5 position in the preseason national rankings and have secured 12 out of the last 13 state titles in Nevada’s largest division.
The 8th ranked team, West, is about to start its season with an away game in Southern California. They will be competing against Santa Margarita, who holds the 111th position in the HSFA 300 national rankings.
American Fork saw a rise of two positions to reach No. 5 this week. In the upcoming Friday game, they will be hosting No. 9 team Orem
